Hyaluron Pen Lip Treatment is a fairly new treatment, although the tool used to inject Hyaluronic Acid into the lips is not new to the scene!
Needle free drug delivery was first introduced in the 19th century. Its main objective was to deliver insulin to diabetics. Delivering insulin in such a way gave medical professionals the ability to reduce pain and confine the drug more evenly in the dermis.
The hyaluron pen works by generating enough pressure to penetrate hyaluronic acid into the lips. The pen forces liquid through its specifically designed ampoule. An ampoule, which holds the HA, has a small hole that is capable of creating a fine stream of liquid. Due to the force the injector is able to produce, the fine stream of hyaluronic acid is able to penetrate the skin.
Lip Filler – Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a clear and gooey substance. It is naturally produced by the human body and has many functions.
Its main function is to retain water which helps your tissues stay well lubricated and moist.
Think of it like a sponge; the gel like water holding molecule is a moisture binding ingredient that helps keep skin plump and hydrated. Inserting hyaluronic acid into one’s lips produces the same results as the skin.
Since hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in human’s bodies, the likelihood of an allergic reaction is slim to none. However, it is important to take note that it it is still very important to know where the filler is made.
How Long Does it Last?
Hyaluronic Acid Lip Fillers are injected by way of a needless pen. They can last anywhere from 2-6 months depending on many factors but mainly one’s metabolism. One can receive 1ml of HA at a time but may return for multiple injections 3+ weeks apart for a more plump look.
Known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid products or topical anesthetic
Active infection on the site of injection
Those that suffer from any bleeding disorder or taking anticoagulants
Those who consumed alcohol or aspirin 24 hours or less prior to treatment.
Have a tendency to develop keloids.
Have an autoimmune disorder.Pregnant and nursing mothers.
Hepatitis and HIV infections.
PMU and/or Botox around the mouth.
If you are considering getting this treatment, make sure you have realistic expectations. The good news is the injection method is much less invasive than having typical lip filler injected with a needle. This may seem more appealing but know that you WON’T obtain extremely plump lips following one session. However, if you are looking for a subtle and natural lip enhancement for your upcoming event or vacation then the needless method is the way to go!
